Kol Haskalah: A Humanistic Jewish Congregation was originally known as the Triangle Congregation for Humanistic Judaism. We serve the Triangle area of North Carolina (Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh and surrounding communities). We are professors, programmers, teachers, artists, scientists, lawyers, doctors, musicians, moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas, retirees and homemakers. We are a lay-led community, which means our members determine the focus and essence of celebrations, services and activities in accordance with the tenets of Humanistic Judaism.
In addition to a dynamic Sunday School for kids in grades K-7 (leading to B’nai Mitzvah), we offer adult discussion groups, occasional Shabbat potlucks and other social activities, social action events, fun-filled holiday programs and celebrations, and plenty of opportunities to practice our core values of social justice, tzedakah (giving) and tikkun olam (repairing the world).
