Campaign for Community

Federation donors contribute nearly three quarters of a million dollars to an annual campaign that literally turns on the lights for the Jewish world.  When disaster strikes, they turn to us.  When opportunities present themselves, they trust us to determine where their dollars will have the most impact.  Campaign dollars go first to fund the operations and services and outreach efforts of our local agencies, and extends to over 30 local and non-local allocations recipients.

When you give through the Jewish Federation, it's like waving a magic wand in the community.  Your one act of generosity joins with other generous gifts to feed the hungry, house the homeless, care for our elders, and ensures a strong Jewish future for Durham-Chapel Hill and Jewish comunities around the world.

Donations can be mailed to the Federation at 1937 W. Cornwallis Road, Durham, NC, 27705.

Programs supported by Jewish Federations encourage greater academic engagement for Ethiopian-Israeli students. Through its School Mediator program, the Ethiopian National Project (ENP), which is funded by Jewish Federations, sends specialists in education, social work and cultural mediation to schools with large concentrations of Ethiopian-Israeli students. The mediators not only work to engage Ethiopian-Israeli students and their families, but also to educate the entire school on the cultural differences of this unique population. Learn more here about ENP’s School Mediator program.
