Scholarships for High School Students Taking Trips to Israel
The Durham-Chapel Hill Jewish Federation encourages high school students to visit Israel through a limited number of $1,000 scholarships for students who wish to participate in summer or year-long programs. Interested students, whose parents are contributing members to the Jewish Federation, may apply to the Israel Scholarship Committee. Applicants who have not visited Israel will be given preference. The application deadline is April 1, 2013. Click here to download an application.
The Israel Scholarship Program is funded by the Sara and E.J. Evans Israel Experience Endowment of the Jewish Community Foundation and supported by the Ochsman family of Washington, D.C.

2012 Israel Experience Scholarships Awarded to Local High School Students Through the Sara & E.J. Evans Israel Experience Scholarship Fund
The Scholarship Committee of the Sara & E.J. Evans Israel Experience Scholarship Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation awarded two $1,000 Israel experience scholarships awarded this year to Simone Leiro and Jonah Horwitz.
Simone Leiro participated in the NFTY in High School Program sponsored by the Union for Reform Judaism. Jonah Horwitz participated in the NFTY in Israel LDor V Dor Summer Program, also through the Union for Reform Judaism. Click here to read more about Jonah’s Israel trip.
