Yom HaShoah: Holocaust Memorial Day Name Reading Ceremony 2019

May 2, 2019 is Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. The Sandra E. Lerner Jewish Community Day School and the Levin Jewish Community Center (JCC) are partnering to observe this solemn day. Please join us by attending opening or closing ceremonies or volunteering to read names of those lost during the Holocaust. You are invited to sign-up for a 15-minute time slot  when you can light a candle in memory of those lost and read names to keep their memory alive.

This program provides a time and space for individuals who are experiencing memory problems and their loved ones to get out of the house and engage in a fun and mentally stimulating activity. Memory Café brings together groups of people with a common issue and engage in supportive social interactions.

Jewish Values and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

Through the study of Jewish narratives about Israel and the unpacking of the complex meaning of peace in Jewish tradition, participants are invited to explore the ideas and values that animate different attitudes toward the conflict and how these values shape their own political understandings. These course sessions will be taught by Rabbi Daniel Greyber.
