About Ignite

Ignite is a networking and educational forum welcoming local members of the professional community and students of all ages to our state-of-the-art facilities at the Levin JCC. Through talks and interviews with business and community leaders who have ties to the Durham-Chapel Hill Jewish community, the Jewish Federation hopes to provide a unique venue to promote corporate social responsibility, community building, and continuing education.

    • What is Radical Inclusion and why must leaders strive for this rather than fear it? Join seasoned leader 18th Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey as he shares insight on powerful leadership, cohesive teams, and a commitment to inclusion that links the two. Event will be moderated by Sim Sitkin.

  • …New Business to NC: Supporting the Israeli-NC Pipeline” with Secretary Tony Copeland
    • Tuesday, December 4th, 2018, 7:30am-9am
    • North Carolina Secretary of Commerce Tony Copeland will address the origins and future of the special North Carolina/Israeli business pipeline and relationships, the future of economic development and recruitment in the State, and the future of workforce development issues. Moderated by Chris Smith.

  • …Keeping Our Schools Safe” with Lori Alhadeff
    • Wednesday, March 20th, 7:30am-9am
    • Moderator to be announced.
    • Since her daughter was killed in the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL, Lori Alhadeff has become a vocal advocate and activist for making schools safer.
    • Admission includes program and breakfast:; $20 general admission advance tickets, $10 for students. If available, tickets will be $25 at the door.
